To our dear patients,
WE’RE BACK!!!
After exactly a month of being under Level 3 Restrictions and operating very minimally, the restrictions were downgraded by the government to Level 2 effective today, the 27th of April. This was announced by the government last week and is a welcome piece of news for us.
Though still restricted under Level 2, we are so excited to welcome our team back again after weeks of rest and self-isolation.
Starting today, you can see your New Leaf Dentists, Dr Rouel, Dr Ben, Dr Tara and Dr Erna and our team of lovely ladies from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm; and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please do note that we are still UNABLE TO PROVIDE ALL DENTAL SERVICES, however, we can do more than emergency services under strict guidelines from the Australian Dental Association.
This includes: examinations, simple fillings, certain restorative procedures, non-surgical extractions, TMJ management, denture procedures, and orthodontic treatments, to name a few. Your dentist will assess each case and will only proceed if the requisite guidelines are met and the overall health and safety of the patients, dentists and dental staff are not put at risk during this COVID-19 crisis.
What are our safety precautions at this time? Is it safe to visit the dentist right now?
Please be assured that we are doing the best we can to make New Leaf Dentists a safe environment to be in.
INFECTION CONTROL: Our strict Infection Control Standards and Procedures remain in place as we continue to maintain our strict safety standards within the practice. On top of that, we have put additional measures to minimise any potential exposure to the virus. We have allowed for extra time between patients so that apart from the clinical infection control procedures, common non-clinical surfaces are cleaned and disinfected including the high traffic points such as door handles, the EFTPOS machine, waiting room chairs, and reception counter.
TRIAGE PROCESS: Prior to each appointment, we go through a screening process to assess any COVID-19 risk. Please be patient as you will be asked these questions several times until the day of your appointment (ie. upon booking, the day before and at the time of your arrival). Please answer these questions honestly as it’s in everyone’s best interest to be assessed correctly. If a risk is identified, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment to a later time and follow the WHO guidelines on how to deal with your situation, such as self-isolating or seeking medical attention.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT: Upon arrival on your appointment day, please be mindful not to enter the premises straight away. Ring our phone on 4367-6222 to announce your arrival and we will advise you if it is time to enter the clinic. This is to avoid an overlap of patients coming and going, and minimising traffic to only the current patient. If you have a companion (other than a guardian or carer who needs to be present), please kindly ask them to wait for you in the car or come back when your appointment is finished. Hand sanitisers are on hand for you to use before and after each appointment.
These are necessary so that we can continue to provide you with the dental care that you need as we remain in operation at these trying times without putting our dental team at risk. We owe it to each other as a community to help #stopthespread, #flattenthecurve and #savelives.
